'Enough is enough' over Droitwich's Raven Hotel
The historic hotel has become an 'ugly eyesore' after years of vandalism. The Worcestershire townspeople are now pleading with the land's owners to bring the site in to good use, amid an extraordinary ultimatum from council bosses.
Wychavon District Council has written to the owners, giving them a 7-day deadline to spell out when the damaged roof will be repaired, and when fencing will be installed around the site. The letter threatens legal action, if the response isn't good enough.
LPW Development - which has outline planning permission to build new homes, a gin bar and brine baths, say they'll be installing CCTV at the site imminently, while they try and secure all the finance for the revamp.
