Essex Police officers to use facial recognition
The chief constable of Essex Police says that his police force is preparing to start routinely use live facial recognition technology to identify wanted individuals, whose images appear on a police database. It is understand the equipment could be introduced later this summer, following a pilot in Chelmsford and Southend which saw three arrests over two days.
