Griff Rhys Jones calls for Kursaal action
The Kursaal in Southend has been named as one of the top 10 most endangered buildings in the UK by the Victorian Society.
It was one of the world's first purpose-built amusement parks when it opened in 1901 and has been home to a circus, a ballroom, a zoo and an ice rink...
All that is open on the site now is a small supermarket.
The president of the Victorian Society, comedian Griff Rhys Jones who grew up in Essex, believes the future can be bright for the iconic building if a new use is found.
