M27 could remain shut all day
A lorry driver has died and three people have been arrested after a crash on the M27 near Southampton Airport.
The incident, involving a Mercedes lorry, Nissan Juke and Volkswagen Polo, happened near junction five on Wednesday shortly after 12:30 GMT.
Hampshire Police said the lorry driver, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
The motorway remains shut westbound between Fareham at junction nine and junction five. Traffic is being diverted at junction nine to the A27.
The force said the lorry caught fire "several hours" after the crash and a gantry was damaged.
Two men, aged 32 and 37 and a woman, 40, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
