£75m for new Canvey Island sea defences
A £75 million project has begun on Canvey Island to improve its sea defences against coastal erosion until at least 2070. Work on the 3km stretch between Thorney Bay and the Island Yacht Club stared 1 year ago and is expected to be complete in 18 months. James Mason is the Operations Manager for the Environment Agency in Essex and told BBC Essex more about the work taking place.
