New Leas of life for Folkestone landmark
The Leas Lift in Folkestone has reached its target funding of the £6.6 million needed for restoration work and plans to re open in 2025.
One of only three water balanced lifts in the country, the funicular will be funded with the help of National Lottery Heritage money as well as local trusts and donations.
It last ran in 2016 after its braking system failed modern safety standards.
Reporter Jo Burn has been behind the scenes to find out more about its past and its exciting future...
