Why is Turkey’s election important to Africa?

Turkey is currently in the midst of its presidential and parliamentary elections. There will now be a runoff between the president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and his main challenger, Kemal Kılıçh daroğlu.

But what impact will these elections have on Africa? The BBC’s Karnie Sharp spoke to Sami Hamdi, a risk analyst and Editor in Chief of The International Interest current affairs magazine.
