Mike Leigh reflects on developing his craft at the BBC
British filmmaker Mike Leigh is known for bringing realism to the big screen through his unique improvisational approach to creating his screenplays. It’s a craft which he credits to his years at the BBC, directing for the Plays for Today series in the 1970s. As part of the BBC 100 centenary celebrations, the seven time Oscar nominee speaks to Tom Brook about what the BBC means to him.
