Love Island has 'anthropological interest for me'

Have you been watching Love Island on ITV2? The programme has become incredibly popular, drawing ratings of around 1.7 million.

Nell Butler, the creator of Come Dine With Me, told Radio 4's PM human beings "love learning from watching other people and you do learn from Love Island".

"It does have anthropological interest for me."

She said the "inventive" challenges and "slightly postmodern way in which the rules are changed in order to suit the producers purposes" are what keep her watching.
