Burnham: Trident solution may be 'impossible'
The shadow home secretary, Andy Burnham, has warned it may be "impossible" for Labour to reach an agreed position on whether or not to renew the Trident nuclear defence system.
An internal review into the issue is being carried out after the party's leader, Jeremy Corbyn, suggested building new submarines - but not equipping them with nuclear weapons.
Mr Burnham, who backs the renewal of Trident, said it may not be possible to reconcile the different views within the party.
