New technology 'will detect potholes'
Car designers are working with a local authority to develop a system enabling vehicles to detect potholes on the road and inform local authorities where road repairs are required.
"Our Land Rover vehicles are fitted with sophisticated sensors that allow the vehicle to profile the road surface under the wheels," said Dr Mike Bell, Global Connected Car Director at Jaguar Land Rover.
"We're using this technology to identify the severity of a pothole."
