Jack Baddams on the Brambling
Tweet of the Day is a series of fascinating stories about birds inspired by their calls, songs and behaviour.
Every autumn ornithologist Jack Baddams looks forward to the arrival of the brambling. This is a winter migrant from Fennoscandia which arrive here in large numbers around October to find refuge in our milder climate. Jack describes how their plumage of subtle brown, black and yellow makes them seem to melt into the leaf litter at this time of year.
Produced by Sophie Anton for BBC Audio in Bristol.
This programme features audio from Xeno-Canto by Elias A. Ryberg (XC143300 - Brambling).
