Songs for the Malago
There is a river in Bristol called the Malago. Small and often overlooked. But now, a group of locals have come together to write songs for it. And every song has a story to tell.
There is a river in Bristol which goes by the name of Malago.
It starts life up on Dundry Hill then flows down into the city, sometimes overground, sometimes underground, and often overlooked. That is, until a group of locals came together to write an album of songs for it. Songs that speak of the Malago, but also of themselves...
Featuring the stories and songs of Helen Adshead, Onora Alexander, Patrick Alexander, Teri Bramah, Jayne Connell, Russ Davidson, John Joseph, Gerry Rowe, and Hiroko Uno Thompson. With additional music by Liam Taylor-West, who also led the original community project, culminating in the album 'A River's Song'.
