The Jazz Warriors and beyond

This week, ‘Round Midnight joins in on the BBC’s The Music Is Black season, in collaboration with the V&A East in London.

Tonight, Soweto looks at the plethora of talented black musicians who were making their names in the 1980s, centred around the creation of the formative all-black big band the Jazz Warriors.

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
