Roddy is a highly successful young author suffering from a bad attack of writer's block.
His bizarre agent, Vivien, has devised a scheme to cure him - Roddy is sent to live with the Madison family in the vain hope that a background of domestic harmony will have the desired effect. But chaos ensues.
