Sudanese traditions and Afghan folk fusions

Kathryn Tickell presents the best in folk and roots-based music from around the world, and hears this week from Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf, who selects three tracks showcasing the musical traditions of Sudan. Plus a track from the latest album by London-based band Kefaya and singer Elaha Soroor, where Afghan folk meets psychedelic rock, post-punk, jazz and electronics, and music by Teodros Makonnen, whose electric organ helped shape the direction of music in 1980s Ethiopia.
