Anthony Joseph's 4/4
Soweto Kinch is back with an hour of the best in jazz, and he welcomes Trinidad-born, London-based writer and musician Anthony Joseph as his 4/4 guest.
From Monday to Thursday this week, Soweto is joined by award-winning Trinidad-born, London-based poet, novelist, musician and academic Anthony Joseph. He is the author of five poetry collections and three novels, and has released ten albums, including his most recent release, ‘The Ark’.
This Thursday marks National Poetry Day in the UK, and in celebration of it, Anthony will be sharing four records that centre poetry and spoken word with music in a special edition of 4/4.
To begin his week, Anthony chooses a release by an American poetry collective and music group widely recognised as hip hop forefathers.
There is also music from Matt Carmichael, Zola Marcelle and Julian Joseph.
