Lizzie Schofield picks the first of this year's tomatoes to find out whether there really is a difference between the modern F1 and heirloom varieties.

There is a taste test at Beechgrove Garden as Lizzie Schofield picks the first of this year's tomatoes to find out whether there really is a difference between the modern F1 and heirloom varieties.

Lizzie is also back in the sitooterie, where she is planting and tying in the rose she started off earlier in the year. The cut flower bed is looking at its best, so there is even a spot of flower arranging.

Brian Cunningham is back in the Beechgrove plot that he has been adapting to illustrate how to make a garden more accessible for those with dementia, and he also looks at planting options for one of the hardest conditions in a garden to cultivate - dry shade.

There is a visit to a garden in Orkney, along with all the weekly handy hints.
