Sandbank Shipwreck

When a mayday comes in from a yacht breaking up on a sandbank off the Norfolk coast, both the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston RNLI crew and two of Caister’s independent lifeboats race to the rescue.

In Pembrokeshire, the St Davids crew are alerted to two paddleboarders in distress, but their location is eight miles away - and it will take at least half an hour to reach them.

Just off the coast of Scarborough, a fisherman has slipped on rocks and has a suspected broken ankle; in fading light and a rising tide, the crew face a tricky extraction.

And across the Irish Sea, in Skerries, there are reports of two swimmers in difficulty near Shenick Island.
