Unlock the best of the Edinburgh Festival with award-winning comedian Mark Nelson, bringing you the best comedy, music, cabaret and theatre from all over the world.

Mark and his all-star team of reporters have scoured the brochures to find you the funniest, wildest and weirdest shows from the capital in this month-long extravaganza of chaos.

This week, Mark meets comedian Rosie Jones, whose career took off at the Edinburgh Fringe. She laughs in the face of the negative voices on social media, and continues to reach new audiences every year, even if she was rubbish on Taskmasker.

West End Mum, also known as Zara Gladman, joins the Edinburgh Unlocked reporting team to take a day trip from Glasgow to find out what’s on offer for those with a high standard to maintain. Tennis-ish, Sauvignon Blanc and string quintets should keep the upper-middle class entertained.

Award-winning Rosco McClelland is back and visits Summerhall to investigate the hottest show of the festival - literally. Theatre, live music and morning raves in a 80 capacity sauna is one of the most fringiest Fringe things we could find, along with talking to the creators of it all in an icebath.

Kate Hammer sets up camp on the Meadows as she searches for some of the best queer, LGBTI+ and gender-political performers at the Fringe. Marshmallows, boy-bands and swing-ball, what more could a girl need?

Common Tongue is a powerful performance, about the use of Scots language and the identity it brings the country and the multiple communities that cross the land. Poet and writer, Len Pennie, goes to the Scottish Storytelling Centre to watch this one-woman play and find out more about the spirit that inspired it.

There’s also loads of jokes, plenty of music and a few more surprises packed into the show, giving you a real taste of the festival this year.
