MURRELL SENTENCING

Peter Murrell is due to be sentenced today for the embezzlement of more than four hundred thousand pounds of SNP funds. He pled guilty to an amended indictment, admitting embezzling from the SNP between August 2010 and October 2022. Earlier this month, the Scottish Parliament rejected a call for an inquiry into the crimes.

So today, amidst his sentencing, is the case closed for you?

Residents in Lochgilphead will soon have to travel eighty miles to get to their nearest bank. The town is set to lose their last remaining branch this month. It's one of 11 Bank of Scotland closures this year and Scotland has lost almost half its bank branches in 10 years.
