This episode contains scenes which some viewers may find upsetting. Tacha, Mary, Izzy and some of the other preceptorship midwives prepare for one the more challenging aspects of the role as they undergo bereavement training. Tacha opens up about her own baby loss and how it has shaped her as a midwife.

On the ward, experienced midwife Aimee is having to put the training in to practice as she supports Keeley and James who have just lost their baby son, Brody. He was stillborn after 31 weeks when doctors could no longer detect a heartbeat.

The couple are in the Dandelion Suite with Aimee, where they have come to say goodbye to Brody before he’s handed over to the mortuary staff.

Aimee must put the bereavement behind her almost immediately as she’s called back on to the Delivery Suite to help Natasha give birth to her third baby.

Off the ward, Summah and Lilli are taking some well-earned time off and have booked an all-inclusive holiday to Tenerife. Will the two young midwives be able to switch off from the stresses of the ward and enjoy the sun?
