Charlie and Flo head to Shrewsbury to help James and his sister Maria transform his plain, uninspired garden into a Doctor Who-inspired sci-fi dream. With little more than a fence, a small shed and a table and chairs, the space is ready for a complete regeneration!

A lifelong Doctor Who and sci-fi fan, James envisions a low-maintenance, alien-themed haven complete with a TARDIS-style shed, futuristic planting, a circular pathway and a tranquil water feature. With Maria’s support and Charlie and Flo’s creativity, can this ordinary garden be turned into an extraordinary otherworldly escape all on a £5,000 budget?

James, who has Asperger’s syndrome, has been living independently in his own home since the passing of their father in 2021. His sister Maria and her husband live just a mile away, and together they form a close-knit and supportive family. James’s lifelong passion for classic Doctor Who and all things sci-fi has inspired this ambitious project, a fun, thematic garden where he can relax, enjoy nature and truly feel at home in his very own alien world.
