In August 1991, Michael signs the most lucrative deal in music history with Sony Music and prepares for what his team believes will be a landmark year.

Then, a 13-year-old boy accuses Michael of child sexual abuse. Detectives describe the shock of investigating the world’s most famous performer, while inside Michael’s camp, aides recall disbelief and a frantic effort to keep Michael’s worldwide tour, business empire and public image intact.

As the story breaks, police search Michael’s home, and the media storm intensifies. Michael publicly denies the allegations, condemning what he calls a 'trial by media'.
