Shepton Mallet 21

The red and blue teams find out whether they bought wisely when their items sell at auction in Lyme Bay. Both experts take a punt on small bonus buys, but for one, the reward is big!

Christina Trevanion learns about a pioneering woman, Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, who in the late 1960s set up a world-renowned donkey sanctuary in Devon. Starting with just one animal – named Naughty Face – Dr Svendsen unexpectedly inherited 204 more in the 1970s, prompting her to move to the sanctuary’s current site in the hills above the seaside town of Seaton.

Hoping to trot off with plenty of profits of their own are two teams of bargain hunters – mum and daughter Bernie and Emma and friends Amy and Caroline. With expert Raj Bisram by their side, the reds are reluctant to part with their cash straightaway. Meanwhile, the blues are on the hunt for pottery to fulfil Christina’s challenge. Can Thomas Forrester fire their imagination with his knowledge? On the south coast of England, auctioneers Harry Ballin and Simon Watson are raring to go on the rostrum – but will the teams be going home with money in their pockets?
