Three Hours of Classical Sparkle

Sarah Walker with three hours of classical music to reflect, restore and refresh, including Beethoven's complete Moonlight Sonata by the legendary Alfred Brendel.

Sarah Walker brings you three hours of classical music to reflect, restore, and refresh.

On today's show, Sarah soundtracks your Sunday morning with a range of treats, including Beethoven's complete Moonlight Sonata by the legend Alfred Brendel; another chance to hear part of the Brentano String Quartet's performance last Monday from London's Wigmore Hall; and another Sunday Sequence - 3 pieces of music in a row all with a common link - this one inspired by composer and astronomer William Herschel.

Sarah's choral reflection this week features Mozart's much-loved setting of Ave Verum Corpus in a recording by the Handel & Haydn Society conducted by Harry Christophers, and we pay a visit to Anton Lyadov's fairytale Enchanted Lake.

Also, glorious Haydn recorded live at the Wigmore Hall...

A Tandem Production for BBC Radio 3.
