Screenwriter Sarah Quintrell talks about adapting Janice Hadlow's best-selling novel The Other Bennet Sister for a brand new BBC One series starring Ruth Jones, Richard E Grant and Ella Bruccholeri. It's an expansion of the world of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, following the character of Mary Bennet, the middle sister of the family who was often overlooked and felt somewhat of an outsider.

Arts Mix reporter Alice Cruickshank looks ahead to Hippfest, Scotland’s first and only festival of silent film with live music, centered in and inspired by Scotland’s first and oldest cinema, the Bo'ness Hippodrome. She speaks with programme director Alison Strauss, pianist Mike Nolan and two of the festival's young programmers.

And musicians Liz Mulholland and Willie Campbell talk about Metagama: an Atlantic Odyssey, a musical show that tells the story of the mass emigration to Canada and the USA of young people from the Outer Hebrides in the early 1920s, exploring the impact that remains to this day in the folk memory of the area and celebrating the resilience of those who went, and those who stayed.
