“My first job in the farming world was gathering spuds.”

Sean recalls his first ever farming job.

“I used to gather spuds,” Sean says. “I worked in the summer for farmer Hatrick. That was my first job in the farming world. For ten bob a week.”
“I grow potatoes and sell them around shops and markets,” says Spud Man. “I saw you walking up that terribly steep street in Derry one night and was going to give you a bag but I thought you had enough on your plate, walking up there. It might be called Creggan street.”
“Yes it’s very kind of you. You thought of me. But Spud Man, you could have asked if I wanted a lift.”
With music from Dean Martin, Travis, Elvis Presley, and more.
