John Wallace tribute and Scottish Opera’s The Great Wave.
A tribute to John Wallace, a new Eric Whitacre piece and Sir Alexander Gibson’s centenary.
The passing of John Wallace CBE is marked with recordings of his performing and compositions alongside words from fellow Wallace Collection member Bede Williams.
A new stage work from Scottish Opera introduces The Great Wave, composed by Dai Fujikura with a libretto by Harry Ross, drawing on Hokusai’s life and the iconic image The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Composer Fujikura shares his thoughts on the piece.
