This week, broadcaster, jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum is sitting in for Soweto Kinch.

Jamie welcomes award-winning South London vocalist and songwriter Ego Ella May as his Friday night mixtape guest. Widely celebrated for her melodic and distinctive voice, Ego’s compositions are deeply reflective and intimate drawing from influences in music and literature. Having grown up in London’s jazz community, Ego has worked with artists including Oscar Jerome, Joe Armon-Jones, and Wu-Lu. Her latest album is ‘Good Intentions’, which blends a range of genres, with jazz as the uniting source.

Tonight, Ego presents a 30-minute selection of some of the music from across the jazz spectrum that she appreciates and is inspired by.
