Concert highlights from Nils Kavanagh
Tonight, Soweto has concert highlights from Sligo pianist Nils Kavanagh and his trio, recorded live at JPN late last year.
‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
Tonight’s Friday night concert comes from jazz pianist Nils Kavanagh and his trio recorded at JPN Cardiff in November. His compositions blend Celtic traditional music and jazz from Scandinavia and the UK, and he was the winner of the Young Irish Jazz Musician of the Year 2022-2024. For this concert, Nils was joined by fellow leading Irish musicians, bassist Benedict Stephens and drummer Sam Green.
