Anglo Irish instrumental band Flook recorded live at the New Gate Arts & Culture Centre.

Last year, Anglo Irish instrumental band Flook celebrated 30 years of innovation and incredible songwriting with, amongst other things, a new songbook, a new album and an unforgettable performance at the New Gate Arts & Culture Centre in the Fountain, in Derry/Londonderry. BBC Radio Ulster was there to capture the full performance which featured all of the songs from their most recent album “Sanju” and a selection of tracks and tunes from throughout their magnificent back catalogue. First broadcast in August 2025, on this week’s programme, you have another chance to hear it.

Flook’s sound is rooted in traditional music but steeped in a sense of internationalism. It is vibrant and poignant, pictorial and progressive – and live, they are a force to be reckoned with!
