A Night in That Land
Gary West explores the new live album from the Inveraray and District Pipe Band.
Gary West samples the latest album from two-times world champions, the Inveraray and District Pipe Band, a live recording of their concert, ‘A Night in That Land’ held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in August. There’s solo piping from Jamie Forrester, Murray Henderson and Willie Morrison, Irish jigs on the uillean pipes from Mick O’Brien, a modern classic track from the late Gordon Duncan, and the first musical piece ever written for the combination of Galician bagpipes and orchestra, entitled Santiago, composed by Shaun Davey and performed by the Banda Gaitas Ledicia.
