New Music of the Bagpipe Kind

The definitive pipe music programme, featuring news and recordings from the piping world.

Gary West explores the new album, Fas, from top Scottish folk band, Breabach, as well as a recent release from the intrepid trio, Brighde Chaimbeul, Ross Ainslie and Steven Byrnes. There are more sets from this year’s Glenfiddich Championships held in Blair Castle, Perthshire last month, with contributions from Callum Beaumont and Canadian-born Glenn Brown, as well as top flight action from the world pipe band championships in August with sets from the Police Scotland Fife and St Thomas Alumni from Texas. And Gary catches up with one of the most prolific piping composers of modern times, RS MacDonald, on a rare visit to Scotland from his home in Japan.
