Sean Stillman

A service led by Sean Stillman, minister at Zac's Place in Swansea.

The evening edition of the programme includes My Favourite Hymn.

“Love your enemies and do good to those who hate you.”

Sean Stillman, a Minister at Zac’s Place community church in Swansea, considers this most difficult and challenging of Jesus’s teachings. In these difficult and fractious times where there’s much passionate division on many issues from amongst other things, politics to medicine, how is it possible to be kind to those whose outlook and views are different to ours? “Do to others what we would have them do to us” is one thing but “love your enemies?”

Sean is also International President of “God’s Squad” a Christian motorcycle club, and in this service he recalls a time in the early days of his ministry when he and some of his fellow biking Christians were confronted by some particularly angry and violent people. We hear how they responded.

Readings are taken from the Gospel according to Luke chapter 6, and Psalm 37. Music includes Charles Wesley’s hymn “And can it be”, “Make me an instrument” by A Ragamuffin Band, “What kind of love is this” by Bryn Haworth, and Sammy Horner’s song “Show mercy”.
