Kirsty is on a mission and Lilian puts her foot in it.

Lynda summons Kirsty to the Tearoom to make a grand announcement. She has rewritten The Mystery Plays – putting Evangeline Lowminster’s attempt to shame – and intends to stage the first on Boxing Day. Kirsty is pessimistic, especially about the timing. Lynda dismisses her concerns. This is what the village needs. Naturally Kirsty will return as producer, and her first task is to reassemble the cast. And they need a new God, now they’re without Bert.
Lynda gives Lilian the good news about the Mystery Plays, but Lilian is snappy and unhelpful. She quickly backtracks, blaming her struggle to give up smoking. However, Lynda was about to ask Lilian to her MBE ceremony. Now that Lilian has offended her, she intends to ask someone else. Lilian promises to do whatever she can to help with the Mystery Plays. She’s relieved and delighted when Lynda invites her to the MBE ceremony after all.
Kirsty has seen a solicitor about a divorce. She and Roy celebrate the fact that the documents are ready to go as soon as her first wedding anniversary arrives. She’s looking forward to having Philip out of her life. She’s also determined to stop Blake visiting him in prison. She reveals to Roy that she has an idea. It’s something that makes her feel sick, but she has no regrets.
