Kings of Cool: Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand and Henry Mancini

Claire Martin presents the BBC Big Band in concert at Town Hall Birmingham with singers Ian Shaw and Mark Murphy as they celebrate the über-cool sounds of Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini and their era defining music which became the soundtrack to the 1960's. Featured titles include Make It Easy On Yourself, Alfie, A House Is Not A Home, Dreamsville, The Theme from The Pink Panther, The Summer Knows and Watch What Happens. Claire and Ian also discuss the musical legacy of jazz legend Mark Murphy who enjoyed a career that spanned almost six decades and whose music is still a guiding light for today's generation of singers.
