8. Conflict

With Meena and Anita back on track, the girls begin to tackle the tricky subject of sex. Meera Syal reads her own novel. From 1996.

Meera Syal's best-seller based on her own experiences as a teenager growing up in the Black Country in the 1970s, which was turned into a film, in 2002 starring Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kathy Burke and Lynn Redgrave.

Meena has resumed her relationship with her gang of white friends, Anita, Fat Sally and Cherie......Anita's mother, Deidre has walked out on her family and, taking pity on Anita, Meena's mother decides to invite her to tea.

Actress and comedy writer Meera Syal continues her first novel - abridged in ten parts by Doreen Estall.
