Philip Marlowe - The Lady in the Lake

Raymond Chandler's world-weary private-eye leaves the smog of LA on the trail of a killer. Stars Ed Bishop and Toby Robins.

Raymond Chandler's world-weary Philip Marlowe must leave the smog of Los Angeles on the trail of a killer.

Blonde, beautiful and wild, Crystal Kingsley had never exactly been the faithful little wife.

But when she's missing for a month and a woman's body surfaces in an isolated mountain lake, Murder-A-Day Marlowe is back in business.

Ed Bishop stars as the private-eye in this powerfully atmospheric drama.

Marlowe is a cynical, world-weary, wise-cracking private detective whose honesty in a dishonest world sent him down the mean streets again and again - in search of some kind of justice.

Raymond Chandler's detective novel, first published in 1943.

Dramatised by Bill Morrison.
