Wesley Smith

The best of Oxfordshire's week with Wes!

You can get another chance to hear the choicest bits of BBC Oxford when TV presenter Wesley Smith takes charge of the radiowaves for Lunch with Wesley on a Saturday from 12 til 2.

He'll be taking a sideways look at the week's stories - as well as chatting to some of the people that hit the headlines.

You can contact the programme at the email address lunchwithwes@bbc.co.uk and tell Wesley which bits of BBC Oxford's output you'd like to hear again!

More about Wesley

Wesley is one of Oxfordshire's best-known faces from more than twenty years with ITV. During that time, Wes interviewed three Prime Ministers, appeared in "Inspector Morse" both on the TV and in one of Colin Dexter's books and reported on all the major stories in the county and beyond.

"I feel I know this region inside out and hope to put my experience to good use in my new role on BBC Oxford 95.2FM," Wes told us.

Wes reported live from Oxford throughout the summer floods of 2007, was let loose at the wheel of a bus on the airfield at Dalton Barracks in Abingdon and switched on the Christmas lights in Cornmarket. He's interviewed countless celebrities and fronted a number of current affairs and political programmes as well as the news.

"I'm really enjoying being at BBC Oxford. I've long-admired the skills of radio presenters and am thrilled at having the opportunity to try my hand at something new, have more time to talk to people and have some fun."

Hi WesI just wanted to say Congratulations on getting your own show on BBC Oxford.... we were pleased to hear you're back but on the airwaves!Hope the new show goes well, and you must be pleased to be back to the Oxfordshire listeners. All the best with the new show - all you need now is to have Hannah join you (once she's had her baby) and it will be a great partnership back together!P.S. Not long now until my Play2Give.... the football tournament fun day returns to Oxford, it's Sunday July 5th at Oxford City F.C. for the Children's Hospital, I have a great team helping me put it together, and the response from teams entering has been amazing!Hoping to raise £5,000 - and it should see me top the £20,000 I wanted to raise altogether! I am looking forward to it, minus the exhausting hard work it's taken to organise such a big event. Best wishes,Andrew.
