This Buddhist tenet underlies the work of Sue Slack, a painter living in Lockton in the North York Moors National Park, inspired by its beautiful landscape.  'Bank Top Trees,' by Sue Slack. I am constantly in awe of the beautiful landscape I'm surrounded by. I believe that daily walks with my two dogs impart an intimate knowledge of the land that is reflected in my work.  'Oakley Walls Series III,' by Sue Slack. I like to draw and paint outside wherever possible, in order to capture the seasonal changes and the effects these have on land and sea. When I paint it is with the intention of reflecting, heightening and intensifying the shapes, colours and rhythms I see in the world around me.  Sue Slack in hat and feline neck wear. I aim to develop my work away from the representational and towards the abstract. However it is important to me that the viewer is still able to recognise the locality, reflected by the artist’s intimate knowledge of that place. I have twenty years primary school teaching experience, not only in a variety of schools in this country, but also in Spain and Thailand.
