Interaction is a partnership between the BBC and CSV, Community Service Volunteers. CSV in a national charity that helps everybody to take part in the life of their community. By working with BBC Radio York, CSV can reach more people across North Yorkshire than ever before. In 2005 we laid down the gauntlet to listeners and asked them to get involved with the BBC’s Big Challenge - hundreds of people decided they wanted to give it a go, and got a free pedometer out of it! We've sent out dozens of free BBC language CD-Roms, offered free home energy checks, recruited RSPB volunteers and lots more besides. It’s all set to continue (and get bigger!). You can help...As well as helping connect people with volunteering opportunities across the county there's the chance to get involved here at the CSV Actiondesk at BBC Radio York. It's a wide and varied role from contacting charitable organizations and building our contacts list, dealing with queries on the phone and entering information to the CSV database through to gaining radio production skills and interviewing people for the radio bulletins.
