Harry is only 11 but he's made history by becoming McLaren's youngest ever signing as part of the team's young driver programme.

He is two years younger than F1 hero Lewis Hamilton, who joined the team in 1998 aged 13.

Hamilton made his F1 debut nine years later in 2007, and is now the seven-time world champion.

Harry first started karting in 2021 and last year was named the 2025 British Open Champion.

He's also won the O plate in the Italian Waterswift Series and was fifth in the European Waterswift Championship.

"I am really excited to join the McLaren driver development programme.

"They're known for developing talent, so it's great to join the team as I continue to progress in karting and into single-seater racing in the future," he said.

As well as Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris , the current F1 champion, also came through the programme, joining aged 17.

Alessandro Aluni Bravi from McLaren called "Harry a talented young karter", with potential to progress into the team's race programmes in F1.

"For this driver, I think there is no target, no pressure other than enjoy karting to get maximum experience, but also to understand what does it mean to be a McLaren driver," he said.
