Do you shudder at the memory of getting your tonsils out as a child?

A long stay in hospital perhaps, your parents only allowed at visiting times - a very sore throat but of course soothed with lots of ice cream! 

Well now due to advances in medicine it's all change for children getting their tonsils out at the Royal in Belfast. 

Sarah Travers followed two children through their operations for this week's Family Focus. By coincidence one happened to be the daughter of a colleague here at the BBC
