    Head coach Michael Skubala says he's having an amazing day.

    "What a turnout! It's just fantastic. You do it for all these smiley faces. What an amazing county - I love it.

    Rowan, Louie, Eleanor and Freddie are waiting for the open-top bus in Newport.

    Rowan says he's looking forward to seeing the Imps play Spurs next year - if they get relegated, of course.

    Freddie says it’s amazing to see what Lincoln have done.

    Thousands of fans at the cathedral. They're chanting “Allez, Allez, Allez” in joy, as they wait for the bus to reach them.

    It's a beautiful day here in Lincoln, the sun is shining, with a perfect temperature of 19C.

    "This is the epitome of what a football team can mean to a community," Jay Wright, co-vice chair of LCFC, tells BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

    "Today is another landmark day on the journey for the club."

    “There is a crazy atmosphere," he says, adding "a sea of fans" has descended on High Street.

    It's great to see so many happy faces in the crowd!

    "If you’d have told me at the beginning of the season I’d be standing here today I wouldn’t have believed you,” says Aaron Trevor, 24, from Grantham.

    He tells me he has supported the club for a decade.

    “It’s been a long time coming,” he adds.

    Barry and his children Jessica, 13, and Charlie,10, are on a family day out to see the bus.

    They’ve all been to lots of home games this season.

    Charlie says the highlight of his day will be waving at favourite player, striker Ben House.

    The forward scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers that clinched the team's League One title.

    Andy Otterwell, 71, is in the crowd.

    He says he felt “speechless” when the Imps got promoted.

    He played as a reserve for Lincoln City in 1971 and has been a fan since England won the World Cup in 1966.

    Andy tells me: “It’s incredible for the fans, the city and just to be apart of it.”

    The players, their families and club staff are now heading towards the city centre.

    They're on three buses, we're told.

  16. Parade routepublished at 13:35 BST 9 May

    The bus is due to leave High Street, at the junction with South Park Avenue, at 14:30 BST, before travelling along Tentercroft Street.

    It will pass through the city centre via St Mary's Street, Wigford Way and Silver Street. It will also loop around Lincoln Cathedral, before travelling along Newport and Riseholme Road. The parade will conclude at the Lincoln Imp pub at about 16:00 BST, the club said.
