Armenia
We are working to increase the diversity and quality of content that tackles disinformation and stimulates debate.

About our work
In Eastern Europe we are working to improve access to high-quality, accurate, unbiased and engaging content that tackles disinformation, stimulates debate, exposes corruption, and supports democracy, inclusion, and accountability in a complex and politically fragile context. Our support for journalists includes mentoring and strengthening editorial and production skills.
In Armenia, our work sets out to reach mass audiences, as well as specific target audiences vulnerable to mis- and disinformation. Our approach involves working with a mix of partners, including commercial operators, academic institutions and media institutes.
Our partners have introduced new debate programmes and fact-checking segments, increased audience reach and won awards.
We have also worked with Yerevan State University as it revamps its journalism curriculum, launches an internship programme and runs practical ‘boot camps’ for students, building on our model.
This work builds on our previous activities in Armenia, which focused on journalistic standards, content production, and financial viability in the independent media sector.
