Manacles 2007, fine art graduate Joanne Fox's new exhibition of her work, will be on display in the Tonic Art Space at Leeds General Infirmary from Monday 3 December 2007. ![]() "Leeds Victorian Xmas" by Joanne Fox Joanne is a past teacher of A-level English literature and in 2007 graduated with a first class degree in Fine Art. Consequently her work reflects her familiarity with ideas expressed in great literature and art of both the past and present. Each digital print, whether in velvet, giclee or acetate, is the culmination of a long process of collecting and compiling images into a framework which demonstrates the continuous stranglehold of the past in present cultural values. Her focus centres in and around Leeds but also draws on her travels and visits to museum collections in the UK, Europe and Africa. She has previously exhibited at Art Works in Flannels, the Leeds Design and Innovation Centre and in a-n Magazine.
