Would you like to share your memories? Moreover, do you feel that Dover should become only the second place in the world to receive a George Cross, the highest civil decoration of the United Kingdom? ![]() Dover suffered much damage during World War 2 Members of The George Cross for Dover Campaign strongly believe that this Kent coastal town, of which 99 per cent suffered damage in World War Two and over two hundred civilians lost their lives, is richly deserving of the honour. You can help. The charity would like to hear from you if you have a Dover war memory, story or memorabilia that might help make a DVD which not only will become an important historical record, but will also raise funds for a permanent civilian memorial at the ruins of St James’ Church. Perhaps you would also like to be part of their fundraising play called ‘It Ain’t Arf Dover Dad’ or simply show your support by attending. You can also add your name in support of trying to get the George Cross. So many ways that you can help!
