Bollywood in Rochester

It's a multi-million dollar industry, bigger than Hollywood and it's stars are practically royalty. So why would a Bollywood come to Rochester?

The film is called 'Veer' and stars Bollywood's answer to Brad Pitt , heart-throb Salman Khan.

Bollywood director Anil Sharma

It's a romantic film, set in the late 19th Century when the British ruled India and tells the story of the Indian reaction British rule.

Already filming in the UK and needing to recreate historic England, director Anil Sharma happened to see Rochester Castle and fell in love with it.

Within 12 hours he was filming there - a romantic, musical sequence with a horse and carriage and Rochester Castle as the backdrop.
