Flood Hero: On Tow

After becoming stranded under a bridge which was beginning to flood, Bettine Symons needed help - and needed it fast.

We were stranded under a bridge in a car that would not start, and flood waters were rising.

He assessed the situation, helped me out of the car (I am 75, heavy and disabled) and went to fetch a tow rope.

A neighbour took me home.

He towed the car out and, with the voluntary driver, took it to my home with my shopping in it.

He disappeared before I could thank him properly.

I have written to Lord Neidpath to ask him to find out who it is.

The stranger had either a cast covered by a bandage on his arm, or a pressure bandage for his wrist.

Getting me out hurt his arm, but he didn't mind.
